Behind the wear parts: Sacha de Bilderling – Our new Business Development Officer

Meet Sacha De Bilderling, our new Parts Business Development Officer. With 28 years of experience in the industry, Sacha leverages his engineering background and industry knowledge to help clients optimize equipment performance. Beyond being a wear parts expert, Sacha’s a dedicated triathlete – always up for a challenge.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
I have an Engineering background in civil construction and started working in the special steel and attachment business 28 years ago. I specialized in wear-resistant steels and heavy-duty applications, particularly for quarrying and mining environments.

What are some of your previous experiences that you think will be beneficial in your new role?
I hope my experience of meeting with the global market, my knowledge of wearing parts products, Combi Wear Parts production, their philosophy and quality (12 years working experience at Combi Wear Parts earlier) and my passion for the application will help develop and strengthen our position in the market.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role as Business Development Officer?
What attracts me is to bring new ideas to the strategy, energize the team and see the benefits of my contribution to the entire organization. Find our key accounts and think with them about how to perform better together. Prospect areas where the company is less present and develop our network to become even more global. On the technical side, share market feedback to expand our product portfolio and improve our systems with the technical team.

What drives you in your professional role?
Setting ambitious goals, defining smart strategies, working hard to implement them and ensuring we achieve our goals; and start again. The work is never finished, there is always something to improve, to modify, to renew. I find it important to be able to question oneself and not hesitate to redo things for the better.

Tell us about something you are passionate about outside of work.
I am passionate about sport in general and particularly about triathlon. I have been practicing it for over a decade and racing all over the globe. It is a demanding sport which requires a strong mindset, dedication, hard work, precision and patience. It is fun and never boring, even on rainy or snowy days. There are always more and new techniques to experiment with, new equipment to test, new races to try. My favorite distance is the half-Ironman distance although I have performed well in extreme triathlon – full distance. If I don’t see you in a quarry or mine, may be let’s meet at the next Ironman.

What is the best thing about working at Combi Wear Parts?
Combi Wear Parts is a family. We all know each other very well, there is a fantastic atmosphere, and everyone works well together. Combi Wear Parts is well known for its excellent service and efficient team. On the other side, we have a great owner who is as ambitious as us and who supports us in all our ideas and actions.
